Learning doesn't stop when the school bell rings!
June 2026
Our TIME Project Parent Workshops have been bringing parents and caregivers into the heart of the learning journey — and what a wonderful time we've had together!
The workshops gave parents a behind-the-scenes look at what happens during our TIME after-school sessions and why these activities are so important for early literacy and numeracy development.
From storytelling and drawing to games, singing, movement activities, and even playdough, parents discovered that some of the most powerful learning happens through play. They also explored simple activities that can be done at home using everyday items to strengthen reading, writing, listening, counting, coordination, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
One of the biggest messages of the workshops was that parents don't need expensive resources to make a difference. Household chores, conversations, storytelling, games, and quality time together all help build the skills children need to thrive in the classroom.
We're especially excited that interested parents will receive printed copies of some of the word and letter games used in the programme so the learning can continue at home.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined us and to our incredible TIME tutors who shared their knowledge, creativity, and passion. Together, we're building strong foundations for learning — one story, one game, and one child at a time.
Notice: Our Kranshoek Primary workshop was unfortunately postponed due to the recent storm, and we look forward to connecting with those parents soon.
