Organised by our dedicated YearBeyond Mentor, Abongile, together with the Yeboneers and Bitou 10 Foundation staff, the event brought learners together to reflect on the significance of Youth Day while celebrating the incredible potential of South Africa's young people.

The programme opened with a warm welcome from a teacher, followed by prayer and an insightful introduction from the school's History teacher, who helped learners understand the importance of this day in our nation's story.

The day came alive through poetry, beautiful performances by the school choir, and a powerful drama presentation by the Yeboneers depicting the history and legacy of Youth Day. Through creativity, storytelling, and performance, learners were reminded of the courage, resilience, and determination of the young people who helped shape South Africa's future.

What made the event especially powerful was seeing young people leading and inspiring other young people. Our Yeboneers are themselves on a journey of growth, mentorship, and skills development through the YearBeyond programme . By stepping into schools and engaging learners in meaningful ways, they are becoming role models in their communities while gaining valuable experience and confidence for their own futures.

This is the ripple effect of investing in youth: empowered young adults encouraging and uplifting the next generation.
